Smyrna Christian School
August - May
Our two-day program ranges from 2-year-olds to pre-k. Through the lens of our Bible concepts, the two-day program focuses on offering age appropriate curriculum and materials to encourage growth through social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Children learn through teacher-guided interactive experiences and activities each day.
Every day starts with chapel. The Bible is taught by a minister of the Smyrna Church of Christ using the Beginner's Bible as a guide. The children enjoy singing songs, praying, and listening to Bible stories. The teachers reinforce the lessons with activities and crafts when they return to their classrooms.
We incorporate various themes into the teaching of the alphabet, numbers, colors and shapes. Themes like farm life, community helpers, children around the world, and insects expose the children to a diverse range of topics and concepts they will experience once they enter kindergarten. In preschool learning, social skills such as manners, sharing with others, taking turns, and following directions are another part of our curriculum which we feel are important foundations for their future interaction and learning.
We recognize that as we educate and aid in the development of children, we are not only serving the children's best interest but also that of their parents. We want to establish a strong relationship with parents to make our school environment one of trust and respect where children will become successful and feel confident in themselves and the skills they learn.
